An expansive Queenstown living space lined in timber from wall to ceiling — a finish that had to protect the boards and keep their natural warmth, consistently, across a very large volume.
The finish
Quiet work. Considered detail.
Timber-lined rooms at this scale are about consistency. Every board catches the alpine light differently through the full-height glazing, so the finish has to sit evenly across walls and raking ceilings for the room to feel calm rather than patchy.
The linings were finished to preserve the timber's natural tone and grain, working carefully around stonework, glazing and joinery so each material meets the next cleanly.
